UPCOMING EVENTS

 

It’s time to start the new SWE year!  The SWE picnic is a great way to start so come out and meet other women engineers even if you’re not a member.  I hope to see you there! 

Tuesday, Aug. 27 – 5:30-7:30 PM – SWE Picnic – Shadybrook Park

Bring your spouse, kids or a friend to the Shadybrook Park for some food and fellowship.  Bluegrass SWE will provide the meat and paper products. Please RSVP by Thursday, Aug. 22 and plan to bring a side dish or a dessert.  There are two areas with playground equipment and there will be corn hole!  Rain or shine come to Shadybrook Park which is located at between New Circle and Nandino Blvd.  It can be pulled up in Google maps by typing in Shadybrook Park.

Registration is open – 2013 Region G Leadership Summit!

Join us for the annual Region G Leadership Summit which will be held in Columbus, OH on Saturday August 24, 2013 at the Hilton Garden Inn – University Area.  Four leaders (two are already signed up) from the Bluegrass section and region leaders are able to attend at a very low cost.  We will carpool to Columbus on Friday, Aug. 23 and the hotel is free.  If you are interested please register at http://2013sweregiongleadershipsummit.eventbrite.com

 

THANKS TO SWE VOLUNTEERS AT AQUABOTS CAMP

ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY TO VOLUNTEER AND LEAD

We’ve run a successful monthly program the past several years at the East 7th Street Center.  Click here for photos of activities at the center:http://east7center.weebly.com/photos.html   Bluegrass SWE’s “Relationships Through Science” is looking for someone to take over programming of the activities.  A regular set of volunteers is available to help and there are some great activities to choose from.  If you want to try your hand at some new ideas and give the kids a great learning experience, please email bgswe2010@gmail.com.

Bluegrass SWE is going for an upgraded SWE template based website.  It will have more memory and other features not available in our current platform. We’ll keep you posted.
